I am a MSc student in Molecular Genetics at the University of Minho, having previously achieved my degree in Biochemistry from the same institution.
My scientific interests cover various research fields, such as Microbial Bioprospecting, Biodiversity and Evolution, Marine Ecology, Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Genomics, Proteomics, and I am also interested to explore more about conducting Bioinformatic Analysis. As you can see, I'm a big enthusiast!
I am currently involved in a research project exploring the dynamics of marine microbial communities, while exploring the depths of the sea in search of microorganisms capable of nitrogen or CO2 fixation. Understanding the diversity and dynamics of the marine microbiome will contribute to the development of strategies that allow a reduction in pollution and global warming. My intention is to focus my Master's thesis on this subject area.
