PhD student
I am a Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Program in Marine Science, Technology and Management at University of Minho. My thesis entitled "Relationship between macrofauna settlement and microbiota in the nearshore" is under the co-supervision of Dr. Pedro Santos. I have completed my degree in Biology, with a specialization in Marine Biology, and my M.Sc. in Aquaculture at University of Santiago de Compostela.
I am also a Diving instructor, qualified as a Scientific Diver with acquired skills such as artificial substrates deployment, sampling, visual census, marine macrofauna identification, and marine DNA extraction.
My research has been focused on Marine Ecology, taxonomy, macro and microfauna, and marine microbiomes, integrating these interests towards standard methodologies for benthic assemblages monitoring across local and global scales.
